Property buyers given advice

31 January 2008

A foreign property expert has offered Britons some advice on how to get the most out of buying a home in Spain.

In an article in the Times, Mark Stucklin says that prospective buyers must remember that Spain is a "large and diverse country" which means that "different areas and kinds of property will perform differently".

With this in mind, buyers are advised to research all locations thoroughly before making a purchase - "you should do your homework before buying any property abroad", he states.

Mr Stucklin goes on to say that many of the best places to buy in Spain are currently located in southern areas around the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca.

In addition, buyers must make sure that they conduct legal searches on any property that they are interested and choose their development and type of house carefully, Mr Stucklin advises.

Spain was recently voted the number one foreign property location for British people in a survey conducted by A Place in the Sun magazine.
