Tourism authorities in Spain are increasingly choosing to market the country's surrounding oceans as major attractions.
According to NuBricks.com, more and more countries across the world are integrating the sea into the package they are offering foreign consumers.
This is because a growing number of people are embracing nautical leisure pursuits such as yachting.
Therefore, authorities in places such as the Costa del Sol believe this could be a good way of enhancing its glamour and bringing in more affluent visitors.
NuBricks.com remarked: "Many coastal regions are racing to build high quality marina berths to attract the money and appeal to the massive number of sailing tourists."
The website added that sailing holidays have become more affordable to the masses in recent years, as it is now much cheaper.
According to figures from the Spanish government, more than 59 million foreign holidaymakers chose to visit the country last year.
