Efforts are to be made to improve the road network in the Benidorm area, it has been announced.
The ministry of public works has confirmed it will re-evaluate the suitability of the access routes into the popular Costa Blanca holiday resort when it begins work to widen the N-332 bypass.
A spokesman for the ministry told the Costa Blanca News that it hoped to identify the best long-term option for the area's road design before beginning improvement work on Benidorm's access routes.
He explained that a traffic density study has been planned and that projections of future vehicle numbers will also be considered before final decisions are made about the exact nature of the changes.
Meanwhile, work has been completed on a project to regenerate Benidorm's Levante beach.
Alicante's costal authority has added tonnes of sand to the beach in order to increase its size ahead of the summer influx of holidaymakers, reports Typically Spanish.
